How to Get to the Math Department by Metro from Silver Spring

• From Silver Spring Metro station take the Shady Grove-bound Red Line to station FORT TOTTEN (2 stops)
• Change to the green line and take the Green Line metro to station ``College Park/Univ. of Maryland (3 stops)'' (Map of the DC Metro System)

• From the College Park Metro station take the free University shuttle bus leaving from the EAST side of Metro station (main exit). The bus runs on Thursday and Friday all day about every 30 min. (You can see a service schedule for the University Shuttle system here; during the days of the conference, the bus will be running on the weekend schedule.) There will be no service during the weekend of the conference. In order to get from the Metro station to campus on these days, we suggest either taking the Washington DC Metrobus or walking.

  • Washington Metrobus line C8 travels from the College Park Metro station to the campus on Saturday mornings. You can see the official schedule for this bus here.
  • Washington Metrobus line C2 travels from the University to the Greenbelt Metro station on Saturday afternoons. You can see the official schedule for this bus here. (Please note that the weekend service takes you to the Greenbelt station, which is one stop further than College Park, still on the green line.)

• You can also walk to campus from the Metro station (about .8 mile, 20 minutes): Take the underpass to the WEST side of the Metro station and walk west on College Ave., see map. Following College Ave. (which becomes Regents Dr. after crossing Route 1) will take you the traffic circle with the big "M" where the Math building is located.
